It Matters Not What Happens, What Matters Is Response

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

Loss, Misfortune, & Uncertainty are most unwelcome guests,

Oh, their absence is a wonder, thinking you are blessed,

Vindictive in pursuit, they feign a patient stranger,

Eager to break bread, they deliver naught but danger,

Ordinary days shatter, upon the trio’s arrival,

Rather than the same routine, we pray for our survival,

False friends indeed, their verdict, served cold in one’s reflection,

Every reaction we unfurl, reflects motives of our selection,

And I wonder how shall we act, as we face the treacherous three,

Responses to Loss, Misfortune, & Uncertainty, are but reflections of you and me
